For me, it depends how tall and wide the mature lily will be. I plant most asiatics 4 - 6 in. apart but for a big one like Scheherazade or trumpets, those are planted about 12 in. apart.
However... I usually plant only 1 bulb and let them increase,
then worry about spacing.
