I especially loved the surprise blooms....
...peering in and around the big-flowered lilies, roses and iris for those sweet little starts with oftentimes dainty, but always perfect in their own way, flowers of almost any conceivable shape, size and color. Trying new varieties every year keeps the gardens interesting; there's never a dull moment.
The seedlings in the photo posted above (and started last spring) bloomed by late summer.
Nothing all that special about the bloom form (or the quality of this photo, for that matter
), but it did bloom.....
