Sheryl, try taking your pictures in the early morning or evening, that's the secret. Your photos are just fine, except the sun thing I mean. I really am impressed with it, I know coneflowers love sun and good drainage. I have 90% sun also in my back yard. The bed I have them in has not very good drainage so I might be moving them in spring and plant them along with the new ones in another bed. Whistling I have read several time in the past year about coneflowers suddenly dying after a heavy rain. So the drainage is very important and they are drought tolerant anyway, some people kill them with kindness. Hilarious!

Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat.6:28-29
