Thanks CeCe,
I live on acreage and have a good sized yard. When we moved here 10 years ago, it was a house in the middle of a thriving hay field. It has been quite an adventure to carve a yard out of the field, but little by little we have pushed back the hay grasses to establish other plantings. The trees we planted have grown enough that now we have a very small shaded area, but mostly we have lots and lots of full sun to grow in. I've concentrated on daylilies and iris so much that I left the veggies go, but this year we have plans to start up a few vegetables in a garden again. I'm new to wintersowing, and will give that a try next month. I have saved some milk jugs and I'm itching to get some things planted and see how wintersowing works for me. We have 3 big white Pyreneese dogs that keep the deer at bay. They are a joy to live with - very friendly dogs.
I'll poke around a bit and read up on who is who and what's happening in the midwest gardening community. I'm hoping there will be a few get-togethers where I can meet some of you. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.
