There is no central spine baja//big ones are at the bottom of the areole, upper ones are at the top . Arranged in a cross with a V of 2 upper latteral ones. Description says(at least for the subspc karwinskiana that it has 6 spines). What is odd is that the lower spine is very long, closer to subpsc nejapensis
