I have five amaryllis bulbs that I placed outside during the summer and that I need to take inside now in order for them to bloom around the holidays. I've cleaned the dirt off the roots and will put them in the basement before planting them again in late November, early December. My question is this: what do I do with the many roots that developed over the summer? Do I cut them; shorten them, etc.? They really have awesome roots!
