It is almost fall now and I can see that I would like to have a number of trees and shrubs with colorful fall foliage included in the "bones" of the garden design. It is nice to have that contrast when there are fewer plants in flower. Of course there would be a number of plants that did have fall blooms as well.


It is the first thing I learned is to start with the garden bones early on when I started to garden. Then I started looking for winter interest items and evergreen,
