This won't count because I honestly can't remember where I got half the plants & seeds I've gotten over the years. Here, old GardenWeb, nurseries, etc. To
@Mardel, I know that just as in life we get dishonest & rude people, there are a few in the gardening community. As well as swindlers & people just out to get free anything. These people usually burn enough people that they get chased off or they leave on their own.
I suffered from post-partum depression after my daughter was born & could barely muster the energy to tend to my newborn or 2 year old. I had no interest in being outside or gardening. Once I talked to my doctor & was sent to a shrink, I started getting out of my funk. I remember taking the trash can to the road & hearing a bird chirping. That bird sounded happy! And I thought, "I want that happiness". As I walked back into the house I remembered to check the mailbox. There was a garden catalog from Henry Fields or Michigan Bulb, & bored, I thumbed through it. I don't know why but a drawing of a Queen's Tears plant caught my eye. I decided that would be my treat to myself once I got out of my funk, & if I could find the plant & if it was even a real plant.
I did get out of my funk but couldn't find the plant. Finally found one through one group or site or another.
Now, I divide them & when they are big enough, I donate them as raffle or auction items for various animal shelter fundraisers.
I'm also always looking to trade for more Bromeliad!!!
