Kathy547 said:This won't count because I honestly can't remember where I got half the plants & seeds I've gotten over the years. Here, old GardenWeb, nurseries, etc. To @Mardel, I know that just as in life we get dishonest & rude people, there are a few in the gardening community. As well as swindlers & people just out to get free anything. These people usually burn enough people that they get chased off or they leave on their own.

I suffered from post-partum depression after my daughter was born & could barely muster the energy to tend to my newborn or 2 year old. I had no interest in being outside or gardening. Once I talked to my doctor & was sent to a shrink, I started getting out of my funk. I remember taking the trash can to the road & hearing a bird chirping. That bird sounded happy! And I thought, "I want that happiness". As I walked back into the house I remembered to check the mailbox. There was a garden catalog from Henry Fields or Michigan Bulb, & bored, I thumbed through it. I don't know why but a drawing of a Queen's Tears plant caught my eye. I decided that would be my treat to myself once I got out of my funk, & if I could find the plant & if it was even a real plant.

I did get out of my funk but couldn't find the plant. Finally found one through one group or site or another.

Now, I divide them & when they are big enough, I donate them as raffle or auction items for various animal shelter fundraisers.

I'm also always looking to trade for more Bromeliad!!! Smiling Smiling Smiling

All my intentions have meant to be honest and they are. Thanks
