We're on the snow belt just off the Tug Hill plateau, which is the base of the Adirondacks. Plus the snow we get from the lake effect. Lake Ontario, and last year we had snow from Lake Erie, which was really crazy.
We've had 70 inches in one snowfall (over about 10 days). Towns just north of us, actually on the Tug Hill have had records of 77 inches in one day, and 466 inches in one winter. A lot of the houses in the Tug hill are built with doors just above the main entrance door, that people can get out of if they can't open the bottom door.
