It's time for our yearly planning thread.
I have 14 roses coming in November from Palatine, 11 of which will be new to my garden:
Philatelie
Paul Gaugin
Henri Matisse
Eifelzauber
Chartreuse de Parme
Elfi von Dassanowsky
Emma Haftl
Barock
Edgar Degas
Butterfly
Augusta Luise
Sonnenwelt -- a second one because last year's is growing so beautifully
Soul Sister -- a fourth one because the other three are wimpy own-root roses
Pirouette -- a replacement for one I lost a few years ago
I've ordered five from Regan, which will arrive in February 2020. All of them will be replacements for roses I've lost over the years:
Halle
Hollywood Star
Las Vegas
Ninety-Niner (Regan's name for Rosie O'Donnell)
Special Occasion
I already received six from Roses Unlimited a few weeks ago. Some are replacements for lost roses and some will be duplicates of roses I already have. There is nothing new to my garden in this order:
Lady of the Mist
Eliane Gillet
English Perfume
Brass Band
Versigny
Blush Veranda
I contacted Hummingbird Roses to ask about some roses and heard that I'll have to wait until spring. All of her saleable inventory has been depleted for now. I'm happy to hear about her success in this new venture.
I have a merchandise credit from Edmunds' Roses for two roses that arrived DOA. I probably won't use the credit because even the ones that had signs of life on arrival are not looking great. I suspect this nursery will be off my list permanently from now on.
