Don't fret about AZ, that is, if you pick a high-desert (4,350 or so) elevation. Skys are crystal clear, sunny and humidity is low. Bonus, arthritis disappears! Another good point, in winter high desert areas may only see a dusting of snow that melts the same day. I spent 20+ years traveling the world and AZ would be my retirement pick if we ever moved from Michigan.
