I would not repot at this time of year, but just fill the pot up a bit more. Then plan to repot it in the spring.
I'm wondering if it was grown/rooted in a rooting tube? Sometimes the roots grow upwards in those when they let it go too long.
Congratulations on a healthy plant, though! Not easy in your climate zone.
