Mona, you probably already know about this, but as long as a daylily is registered you can quickly check the stats on it by accessing the AHS database:

Just type in the name and it will give you the registration information, including whether it's a Diploid or Tetraploid. That will save you time if you want to make crosses, since you can't breed between the two. Both parents have to be the same or it won't take. I've now identified all my daylilies with a D or T for decision making.
