Been to the USA and Florida in particular a few times. One of our daughters and two grand daughters live in Fort Lauderdale. I believe the palms you are referring to are Bangalow. We have four in our back yard of varying heights and the boots are as you describe. Two of ours are ready to shed. It is going to be a big pot if it falls without misshaping. Crossing Fingers!

Gave up trying to grow old gracefully, now growing old gratefully.
