New to this site! I have a pot of heirloom amaryllis. A bulb was given to me by an elderly lady who got a bulb from my great grandmother many decades ago. I remember the leaky galvanized pail of red orange flowers by the well along with similar pails of agapanthus and rain lilies. They were all put in dirt cellar for winter. I dont think they were brought up until next spring but not sure. I live north if Lake Ontario in old zone 4. Not sure of new zone. My pot has not bloomed. I have been just bringing inside to sunny window for winter but it has never bloomed in about 5 years. I wonder if I should put in cool basement as my grandmother did??
