ok folks,

Here's a bit of an odd request... I'm currently renting a basement in my SIL's house (helps explain some of my other posts...) anywho, She has extreme phobia of ALL things flying. Birds, bees, butterflys, flies, etc. She has given me areas of the yard that I can do what I want with. I plan on many veggies that don't necessarily need pollinators, leafy greens, tomatoes, peppers, and such. I'd also like to put in some flowers, but I want to respect her fears and not plant things that are huge attractors of pollinators. I know this is contrary to most gardeners goals and philosophy.

Does anyone have any recommendations for some nice flowers that don't really attract insects?

I'd love her to be able to enjoy her yard and not go into a panic attack every few minutes. I've thought of planting some things in a far corner of the yard that she doesn't venture into anyway to help draw insects away from her main porch area, but I don't know if that would really just bring them into the yard in the first place.
