I sent a coconut from Hawaii, just the unwrapped coconut with a mailing label on it, to my SIL's ofc. He still has it, so he says. Wonder if they still let folks do that (it was before 9/11)? I also sent one to my neighbor and she kept it in a pot with a little water until it sprouted, then she threw it away. 'Too much trouble and mosquitoes. I bet the coconut would work for small staghorns too.
