Hi Jan, sorry that no one has responded yet but it's a bit difficult to identify without photos of other parts of the plant, like leaves, bark, etc. Did you ever slice it to see what the inside looked like? I live in Florida and I'm not sure what it is but I wonder if it might be an overripe Kiwi of some sort?
