I had a couple in SC and they did fine, in the ground, for several years but those occasional cold years did them in. The large leafed on was the most tender. So yours blooms in the normal season. Thinking I really cannot understand why this one is a winter bloomer. I did give it a hard trimming last spring as it was the first year I had it and I thought it would fill out. Didn't happen.
