Do any of you used Supersorb when planting your daylilies? I do.

"SuperSorb F used when planting bareroot plants, seeding, installing sod or hydroseeding, may increase the ability of the soil to hold more water. It is also used to keep roots moist when bareroot plants are being shipped or transplanted. SuperSorb F will reduce the frequency of irrigation and promote more rapid establishment and plant growth."

It comes like large sandy pebbles. You put a capful in a gallon of water and wait for the pebbles to absorb the water and look like a bowlful of jello pellets. I used a cupful at the bottom of the hole when planting a daylily.

I have very sandy soil amended with compost. I believe it helps keep the plant from drying out too much in between waterings.

No test, but I did miss one whole bed when I was redoing some gardens and the next year I definately saw a different in how the plants looked. The bed without had browning leaves even though I was watering heavily once a week.
