The larger leaves were grown in a greenhouse environment under stronger light. They will gradually die back as healthy new, but smaller ones are added at the tip ends of the stems.

I suggest pruning back the leggy-looking stems to one or two nodes above the soil. New growth will then emerge starting at that point on the stem. Pruning back will eliminate the bare stems and gradually produce a shorter, fuller plant.
