I've done that in the past. It's not predatory in my case, I assure you. I tend to ONLY bid on low starting bid auctions, and in some cases I've only given myself $5-6 wiggle room (depending on that seller's shipping charge for additional wins).

In any instance, I feel guilty about bumping up someone else's price, especially when I don't exceed their maximum bid. In a system where maximum bids are secret, though (which is the only way the system works), bid-bumping is bound to happen.

Just know that there are those of us out there who DO feel guilty when that happens...as well as jealous that we still didn't win lol.
Hardy hibiscus are a hobby, but daylilies are an obsession.
