Hi Pat, I'm in zone 8 - northwest Louisiana - so in a similar climate to you. I've had great success rooting all kinds of plants using a Forsythe pot. (https://www.gardeningknowhow.c...)

I use vermiculite instead of perlite and almost everything I stick takes root, including Lady Banks rose. Give it a shot. Good luck with your garden endeavors!!
