Ted Kipping was an influential horticulturist, beloved by all who came in touch with him. He passed away last November. Several years back he visited us for the last time and gave me a cutting that came to be known as Salvia karwinskii 'Ted's 18 Footer'. Some of our customers have measured it at 21 feet tall. These are in full bloom now, and looking at them brings back the memory of this amazing man.
