Mary - The rings do only show up in cool temps. But the photos you showed would still be considered a pattern. The only daylily I have that has an ornate pattern in hot temps is Venetian Pools.
Mine sometimes shows a white inner ring when night temps are cool.

It's a fast multiplier here, and I like the look of the bloom in my garden.
