Gene,
And how are they to stay active it there's nothing to be active about every second of the day?

Thomas,
Any strawberry that's not an everbearing. Too many tiny berries.
Thanks, I'll always be partial to elephants and giraffes, then all the rest, lol!

Kneaded up a batch of white bread and my room smells like dough. I have it sitting in the sun on the counter back here. I did that and laundry instead of walking.

Story Time!

Hello Dolly

Everyone's favorite! I was nine and she was two when she came to the zoo in 1966. Sometimes I got to buy treats to feed her. I would stand on the steps and call DOLLLLYYYYY. She would come lumbering over. Safety wasn't a big concern back then because she could reach your outstretched hand and you could feel her trunk as she took her treat. She was the best!

One day a story was in the paper. She was alive and at the Denver Zoo! Sadly, she was humanely euthanized a few years later on Friday, September 2, 2016, after a severe decline in her health at age 52.

Dolly was the 10th oldest elephant in a North American zoo accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and had exceeded the average life expectancy (46.9) for female Asian elephants in zoos.

For those out of state, they closed the zoo in 1980. Until a few years ago we didn't know where Dolly went or if she was still alive.

In the first elephant picture, you can see the fence they erected to keep people back. The girl by the fence is a Nichols girl from my sister's class. Down below, a boy is reaching to her like I used to, but she's the original elephant.
