Forgot to post an update on my 4" tall first-year seedling that shocked me by brazenly putting up a scape. It did manage to produce 2 blooms! Was able to snap a photo at the end of the day of the first bloom:

Was out of town and missed the second. Not exactly a thrilling bloom but I have to give this guy an "A" for effort! We'll see how much it changes in year 2...

Hi,
I know you posted that a while ago, but I'm a relative newbie and I just now saw it. Would you consider this seedling a reverse bi-tone? Or did it outgrow the color difference between petals and sepals in subsequent years?

For the record, I really like bi-tone and reverse bi-tone blooms!
Hardy hibiscus are a hobby, but daylilies are an obsession.
