Thanks everyone! A few more zoo stories to go.

Mac,
Baby sloths are kind of cute, but they sure grow up homely.

Jeanna,
If I stay on the computer too long I have trouble sleeping, and occasionally I just have one of those nights.
I've got an order in for a quarter beef myself.
Rose IS a beautiful name and that is the neatest set of family names!

Ginny!
ROTFL over the funnies!

Gene,
I agree, never lose who you are.

Not sure how many yahoos are spending the night but I set beds up for three of them. One kind of likes to come by himself, so I don't expect him to be here.

It's the youngest one's turn to pick where we eat so I'll be having a large McDonald fry. Maybe a drink.

Not much else is new.

Story Time!

The Lion

I remember when the lion at the Muscatine Zoo would start a series of little grunty roars. When people gathered around, he would turn his back end to the bars and spray.

I always thought the lion had a sense of humor. If he didn't grunt, no one would get close enough to see what it was all about. Luckily, I was standing back the first time I ever saw him do it, so when the guy got close and leaned over the bar, I stood farther back because I knew what was coming. I can still see the guy that got wet. I wasn't very old, but it's one of my favorite memories.
A small town has no secrets except itself
