Hi MommaBetty,
An Iowa girl here.
I love your dog Bunny!

Linda,
A really warm day for you!

Rj,
Congrats on her team taking first place. That has to feel good.

Gene,
OH WOW! I would have freaked, lol! Buffalo are big enough behind a fence, but to be that close would be awesomely scary!
I'm ready to be done with winter!

Jim,
Good for no fog and better blood sugar!

Jeanne,
Look at your wonderful plants! We need a picture of the iris fully opened.

Mac,
I'll bet my compost is still on the frozen side.

Ginny,
Oooh, steaks!

Got the grocery list made, one recycling tub out that I laid down. I'm listening to the wind. No walking today. Sunshine and no snow at all. It could have been 8'' to 12'' deep with the wind.

Story Time:

The Rest Of The Zoo

The antelope were in with the buffalo and they were on the hillside. I rarely saw them up close.

The goats had a tower to climb and while they were interesting, they didn't do much.

The tigers were pretty, but they laid around and didn't have the personality of the lion.

I remember the bears, but not much else about them. I'm not sure where they were.

The llama never spit on me, but I remember seeing it spit on someone else so again, I kept my distance.

The reptile house didn't seem to be open all the time, but when it was I had to see the snakes.

When we were done at the zoo we would drive down to the duck pond and watch them swimming and waddling around. They had a neat lighthouse and stone house they slept in on their island in the middle of their pond.

The Weed Park Zoo has left me with memories of days gone by.

The Duck Pond

When we were done at the park and the zoo we would get in the car and drive down to the duck pond. We never fed them, but just watched. I was always disappointed because we couldn't go over to the lighthouse and little cabin that was their place to sleep.

The duck pond is still there and now people can also fish. The ducks are all over the water or out on the grass.
A small town has no secrets except itself
