ffe of 'bold awakening' opened sometime today. took pic about 2:00 pm, and temp. swings went from cloudy, rain yesterday 64 deg. f. to 81 deg. at the zenith of high today. looks like 'ba' might be another bloomout.

this has been an observation of mine. of the irises that bloom, most of them that do not have increases at the time of bloom, do not increase after bloom. they usually shrivel and dry up.

so, i am wondering if i should sacrifice bloom every year, and feed more nitrogen to increase rhizome activity. then hit them with more phosphate when there are many increases. hmmm, will have to experiment more and fine tune. Sighing!
