I have a house who's yard got really out of control. Weeds everywhere, ivy took over. Hired some day laborers to come in the fall and basically rip out everything that wasn't a rhododendron by the roots. I knew there was some stuff I would loose, and I was okay with it, but I forgot all about the clematis. I was so sad.

We've had a very mild winter and since today was stunning I cleaned up the rest of the leaves- and I have new clematis growth all over the place!
Hurray!
I'm so happy we didn't kill them. Not by a long shot! Even some of the woody stems that looked shredded and bent and kinked have fat buds starting.
DOn't let the beauty fool you- this is One tough plant.
The plural of anecdote is not data.
The plural of bozos is Dasilyl - so please don't engage with my website troll who typically caches my first post and responds ugly just to be nasty. If it gets upity, please ignore it.
