It really was bad. Took out the power lines in front of the house and my entire block did not have electricy for days. But I like it much better now without that tree as the yard there is nice and sunny. I have all sorts of things growing there like daylilies, bulbs, siberian and bearded iris and more. Looks so much better to me too than the old way. The few things that did need shade. like some ferns and my hydreangeas, I eventually moved over to the shadier side were the other blue spruce is growing. But it was a reall mess that first spring getting the roots out and filling up the giant hole. After that I just planted more things.
