On the LA you are vetted before you can bid. That's not to say that someone can't use fake/stolen info to join. The majority are regulars. I have learned that you don't have to win everything you bid on. I believe that if you use that approach you are better off. I have upped my initial bids based on the fact that after I reevaluate the initial bid in my estimation it was on the low side. Many will test you to see if you just bidded the minimum by going one or two dollars over. Pam the best way to keep track of any LA auction is to watch it. If you watch it, it stays there until you remove it long after it is closed. If you bid on it you have to physically go back and look it up in the closed auction if you didn't win. I have been doing that lately to keep track with minimal effort on my part even on some of my bids. I will never bump someone up just because. If I bid, I am interested in winning if it is in the range of what I think that it is worth to me. Like Maurice said in regards to being outbidded. Up your bid if you really, really want it.
