I have on more than one occasion, raised my original bid. I either found that the daylily was rare, value was much higher than my initial bid, or I decided that I had to have it. Also, if the "watched" list keeps increasing, I know the competition is poised to outbid me. I honestly don't find the bidding fun. I'm just there to get the plant/seed that I need. I'm in it, to win it. Bidding up your original bid doesn't mean you are new or stupid. It may just mean that you have made up your mind to have it.
