Karen, I order from Kroger for delivery and they contract with Instacart for the actual shopping and dropoff. If I remember
correctly (which I may not
), with the first Kroger.com delivery order, I then signed up for an Instacart account, which was free.
When I log in to my Kroger.com account to start shopping my local store, that website links me to Instacart, then I shop from the Kroger site. Think I have done this seven (?) times and each has been a good experience. You can pick from available days/times; then I get texts when the shopping starts, if there are questions about substitutions, etc., and when the driver is enroute to my house. With Kroger, I have a $9.95 delivery fee, plus shopper/driver tip. Have not used Instacart for any other vendor.
I have an Amazon Prime account, so I can use Amazon Fresh, as well. Here, the minimum order is $35.00, and there is no delivery fee, although they do recommend a shopper/driver tip. Each of those experiences has been good, too. Much of their pricing is comparable to big supermarkets, and I like having this option to get smaller orders--which means I don't 'have' to make a big order from Kroger so I can justify to myself paying that delivery fee. Cheaper than a taxi back and forth, but, still...
If you want to split up perishables from non-perishables, Kroger.com, Amazon Pantry (if you have Prime), and Walmart all offer free shipping with a $35.00 minimum order. Target is usually a minimum $25.00 order. I get canned goods, snack foods, pantry staples, cleaning supplies...toilet paper
, just all kinds of packaged stuff that way.
If you live in or close to a large(ish) metro area, you might try one of these options.
Hope this helps.
