I'll bet you could do wonders with that small table. See the bit of gold edge I put on the edge of the seat on the chair? I just used a sponge that I swiped through some gold paint and again swiped it on the chair edge. That part is so easy to do. Even if you did nothing else, a touch of gold edge looks nice, especially against a darkish color.
I hope you give that table a makeover.
