Have any of you tried pasta with butter or oil.. no red stuff.. just some fresh grated cheese ..a crunchy salt .. and garlic ..

My dad would fix it with butter or oil and the cheese .. but he would also sauté Italian bread crumbs in a pan with fresh garlic and a wee bit of basil .. sure it until it was c
Very brown ..but of course not burnt.. and the crumbs would top the pasta.. so good.
And so inexpensive .. and so quick!!
