Caroline, mine wouldn't be started if I didn't have the light set ups.We always get a snow around Easter, and no planting out until the middle of May, here.
Woofie, I broke down and bought marigold seeds this year,too, but only because I wanted to grow some of the Incas.They are the closest that I've found to my favorites, which were 12 or so inches high with big full flowers.I figure if they are the ones that I like so much, I'll not be buying marigold seeds ever again.
