Here is the recipe as I made it last week. It may not be the same ..... being sheltered I worked with what I had in the cupboard .. it was excellent ... mi wrote this for someone and she wanted details so read between the lines

Don't let the length fool you.. this is SIMPLE and QUICK and won't destroy the kitchen

Ingredients
A pound or a bit more of ground beef. NOT the good lean stuff.. get 80/20 so some fat
A large onion chopped .. sweet or regular ..your preference
8 DECENT sized cloves FRESH garlic ..chop some.. slice some not skinny things if skinny add more
A small can hunts sauce or half a soup sized can Hunts sauce
Two boxes Progresso beef broth. You will use a box and a quarter of the soup ( don't be tempted to add it all.. you can always use it some other time )
A medium-large size cabbage sliced in inch width ??? rings ..then cut those in half save a few big leaves
Cup FRESH shredded Parmesan (not grated)(can find small container in the butter egg cold section)
Salt
Pepper .. few shakes.. it's really what you prefer
Pinch of celery seed but if you don't have don't sweat it
Rice NO MORE than a 3/4 or a cup
Few tablespoons of dark brown sugar ..optional but it is good in there

—————-
In a tall soup pot ..fry the chopped onions in a bit of butter until limp
Add the ground beef and keep busting up until browned - not dark brown just no pink at all ..bust it up good
Add the mix of chopped and thin sliced garlic and fry a bit . careful garlic burns QUICK. DONT BURN THE GARLIC!!
Now put in everything else in pot except rice and salt .. EVERYTHING and go away .. simmer LOW.. but make sure it is moving . COVER it .. stir every now and again .. I cook it
for about an hour and a half..maybe.. I don't know .. it just cooks ..
About a half hour before I am ready to serve I ADD THE RICE
Be sure to stir a few times
When done ..sample.. salt to taste .. I like the crunchy kosher salt because this is a hearty dish
10 min prep and fry..
one pot
a clean stovetop (unless you let it boil over)

NOTES .. don't go out to specially buy.. but if you have red pepper flakes .. can add a PINCH .. it's what you prefer..you may want it with a bit of bite
Can also add two beef bullion cubes but I would not buy special
I like the bit of dark brown sugar in it .but that is optional ..but it's good in there
The fresh cheese is NOT optional nor the tomato sauce

I also have added about 4 strips of cut up small pieces thick cut preservative free bacon and fry it along with the onion .. it is good.. but it is not the traditional polish stuffed cabbage flavor .. but if you like you can try that

Holler if I was unclear
You will make this a lot. Great the next day too! Maybe better!

If you like I have a beef stew I make that is good ..one pot no fuss .. no potatoes needed and you won't miss those potatoes... great with a crusty bread
Just let me know
Don't squat with yer spurs on!

People try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved
