Haha! Shovel digging isn't for wimps in this place either. Some use pick axe or such. Ya know those tools for post-hole digging?...better come with a very strong handyman on the top end...doesn't work for me! Rocks galore and caliche, which hardens into caliche cement sometimes. This is why we need REAL quality local nurseries with knowledgeable employees. Tell them what kinds of plants you'd like and what soils you're dealing with, say the word "hill country" and they can help you. Big box stores? Don't ask them anything but what the price is...they MIGHT know that!
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White
Integrity can never be taken. It can only be given, and I wasn't going to give it up to these people. Gary Mowad
