Charter ATP Member I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database!
They go dormant in the dry season when the ground dries right out. Don't come out until the rain soaks through to them. There's another lot at another abandoned homestead near here. That place was abandoned in the late 1950's and the Caladiums are doing really well. They get extra water from roof run off so that makes for a good drenching even when the rain shower is light.
