I am having troubles with germination (about 30% so far), but it seems to be the trend with Cucurbitaceae this year here. I am seeding some more melons more later today and hope for the best.

Since I am the greatest watermelon lover in the universe (according to my mother) I would love to grow them but I lack the room and these hills are not the best environment for them. Funny thing is I could get watermelon seeds from Central Asia (Russia, Kazakhstan etc) which are very old fashioned cultivars, meaning smaller and with a much thinner rind than modern cultivars so popular in Europe and the US.
I am just another white boy who thinks he can play the Blues.
