There were a bazillion of these on our 42 acre rural Central TX property while we were Covid quarantining down there mid-March. We have never seen them before down there and the pastures were aglow with them. Texas Wildflower ID had me thinking they were Salt Cedar (Tamarix gallica), but I'm just not sure since the Salt Cedar looks so much larger than my plants. The immature ones start out whitish to pale yellow and they slowly turn a lovely peachy/coral color. The stalks are about 1½-2' tall and the plants look very delicate/fragile. No thorns, unremarkable leaves, little root system. I just love them. Gave an orange glow to the pastures that mimicked Paintbrush, but I walked out and it was these things, not Paintbrush.

Any help ID'ing these striking wildflowers/weeds is greatly appreciated.
