since I am working and not cooking, I can chime in on the medicine better than the food.
for the aches and pains we get from chores and gardening, Karen explained about not overdoing the NSAIDS, non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs
so I looked up Tylenol acetaminophen, which is not classified as an NSAID, these meds should not be taken for prolonged amount of time
Acetaminophen may be a comparable substitute for Aleve that can be used with the NSAID cream.
My mother, age 85, had back problems last year. She usually took Aleve. Though she is accountant, due to pain, she could not add tylenol doses in all the meds. So the provider took her off the narcotic and put her on scheduled "tylenol" 1000mg (1 gram) about every 8 hours, max daily dose, 3 grams, from all sources!
Even though these are OTC meds, they can affect liver and kidney function so should still be given following medical advice and being aware of ingredients in all meds.
Karen, you may be interested in a preop study showing that patients who took "tylenol" 1 Gram by mouth before surgery had good effects, requiring less time in recovery and less pain meds. So the surgery center adopted this practice routinely to give tylenol by mouth instead of iv, less cost.
I am not posting this as medical advice. Just an FYI that acetaminophen may be an option to use less NSAID drugs or take tylenol with the NSAID cream.
Back to chow time , I think I may make the egg muffins more for work. So far so good! Last time I had them with veggies and salsa. Tonight I heated them with a slice of bread for egg sandwich!
I'm still planning on experimenting with ingredients and flavors, spices!
Rosie, hope you have a better weekend! I think your "messes" are your "message", as Robin Roberts says. You learn from them and you teach us! (such as the cinnamon trick!) Thanks!
