Hi Frenchy
In late fall I do lightly (LIGHTLY ! ) trim the lavenders. I run an electric hedge trimmer carefully over the perimeter to remove spent bloom stems only. I never remove wood or newest growth.
Something I do notice - voles & mice like to tunnel under the lavender canopy. In the winter my cat, charcoal hunts them down. Hasn't been a problem since he adopted us.
