Since TT offered up a recipe for something sweet I will offer one for something savory. I will be honest. I am not much of a baker but even I can manage this. nodding Since I will have company coming on the 26th for dinner I wanted to make something nice, quick and homemade bread wise. I remembered a very simple recipe my mom used for Everyday Easy Garlic Knot Rolls. I would love it when she made these for dinner with pasta or with steak and potatoes. Drooling : No idea where she got the recipe but it is as follows:

EVERYDAY EASY GARLIC KNOT ROLLS:

Ingredients:
1 lb. store bought pizza dough; room temp
3 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 Tablespoons melted butter
6 extra large cloves of garlic; very finely minced
1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano flakes
small amount of flour to dust a work surface

Instructions:

1.) Preheat oven to 400 F and line a large tray with parchment paper. While oven heats sprinkle flour on work surface and divide the 1 lb. pizza dough into 4 equal sized balls.

2.) Take one dough ball and make it into a 4 inch x 10 inch rectangle.

3.) Slice the rectangle into 4 strips about 1 inch long.

4.) Loosely tie the strips into knots and place on the baking sheet with the knot side up.

5.) Repeat this for the other 3 dough balls until all dough is made into knots.

6.) Bake about 20 minutes (watch) or until cooked through and golden brown on top.

7.) While the knots cook get a large bowl and whisk together ALL ingredients from olive oil through oregano. When the knots are golden brown and done cooking, remove them from oven and toss in the bowl with garlic-butter-oregano mixture. Serve immediately.

Enjoy.
