We've had a rose for at least 20 years. It might be centifloria, having peony-like pink flowers, very fragrant, and a lot of thorns. It recently went through several years of neglect, struggling to grow amidst weeds. Weeds have been cleared out this year and it seems to be doing well as far as the foilage. However, no blooms. I applied bone meal in May. I looked for five-leaf clusters above which to prune, but found none. All clusters are 7- or 9- leaf. Should I just be patient and wait until later this year or next year, given the previous years of neglect? Or should I prune above any of the 7-leaf clusters? I don't think the current branches are suckers. I did fertilize it today with a Bayer product (combo disease,pest and fertlizer solution)
