Thanks Mona! The seedling is on the right and is a cross of MARDI GRAS BALL X BLUE LAKE. The seedling you have from Michele is a sibling to my intro SUPERSTITON SPRINGS which has fantastic branching and bud count you may get some nice seedlings from it with the right cross.
The only advice I can give on picking crosses is to go back a couple generations if you can and see where certain traits came from...
Thanks Shirlee! The garden will be ready for my spring garden tour this year I will invite friends and have a bbq along with daylily talk, and new friends. Last season my garden was added with the club garden tour and I meet some very nice people this year I will have the tour on my own and extend the time spent in the garden at the request of some of the visitors from last year I will provide each guest with a gift plant and share what I know about growing daylilies in and arid climate, this usually takes more than 1 hour that is the time the club allows each garden in their tour and I find folks have questions about hybridizing and growing so I have extended my garden time and will host on my own this season..

Michele - The petunias have almost become weeds this season, most of the ones in the beds have self-sown from last season and I am getting some different looking petunias than I started with.......maybe I will start hybridizing petunias.....
Thanks Betty - The display area now has jasmine, freesia, and citrus blooming so the smell in the garden is awesome.. The garden will be cleaned and ready to show by mid-April..

Thanks Juli - I can only remember covering frost sensitive plants once this winter and the temp never got below 32 so that has helped to keep the plants looking good.
Thanks Steph - The desert can be kind with lots of sunshine, but is not the best place to grow plants that require lots of water
