I am hoping for an ID on this guy. Very tall, at least 3', and the nursery it is displayed at doesn't sell them so the cultivar wasn't listed. I am more more adept at identifying hostas. Lol

If there's a better database where I can search both beard and standards. I'm not even sure if I'd class the standard as yellow or orange? And copper for the falls? Burgundy?

Thanks in advance for any help

Couple things..
Ask the nursery where they got it. Someone may remember if it was from a wholesale nursery, or a leftover rhizome they planted from a bulb supplier...

BlueJ iris has a search feature that I have found helpful in the past.. If you go to "Iris A-Z" , the under colors, pick red and yellow.

When going through the database here, you have to look at all the different pictures, rather than just the thumbnail. Sometimes the thumbnail is a very pretty picture, but not accurate. If you find one that's close, and there aren't many pictures in the database... google it.. look At Wiki.irises.org. They often have different pictures.
look at all the minute detail.. What does the ruffling look like? Is there lacing? color of the beard? How far do the haft lines go? What is the shape of the flower, the falls, etc?..
The database works best with less information.. The problem is, one hybridizer may call a color "red", and another will call the same color "maroon".. So you have to search many times with different input.

Good luck.. I've been looking for the names of some blue Iris that were given to me over 20 years ago.. I've bought many blue iris trying to find a match.. So far, without luck.. but I have found the names to some others, so don't be discouraged..

Here are a few I found that are close.. but I'm not convinced on any of them..

I think yours is more ruffled than this one, but it has the dart under the beard
